Buche de Noel is traditionally made around Christmas time. This was my first attempt at a buche de noel (made in December of 2005).
The tree was made from pistachio marzipan based on the recipe in "The Cake Bible". The ornaments were made from marzipan (almond) that with a bit of food coloring. The cake was an almond and hazelnut sponge with a chocolate ganache filling and buttercream frosting.
